New Hope’s Men’s Ministry applies our mission to some particular challenges facing men:
Integrating head to heart –knowledge and emotions – proves difficult for many men, and Christian men are no exception. Struggles and disappointments accumulate over time, and the emotions tied to these events can make it hard to connect with Jesus or with other people. New Hope supports a ministry formed to address this problem: Marked Men for Christ. New Hope encourages interested men to take part in MMFC retreats, and provides follow-up for those who attend. For more information, visit www.markedmenforchrist.org.
Along with our regular teaching ministries, New Hope provides men with two other opportunities to grow in their knowledge of the Scriptures: Men’s Thursday takes place each Thursday morning at 7:00 AM. Men gather for at New Hope for coffee and watch and discuss talks from great Christian teachers. Speakers have included Sinclair Ferguson, Michael Horton, Tim Keller, Donald Miller, and R. C. Sproul. Lessons are chosen so that anyone can jump in at any point, and the group always wraps up in time to get to work. Come when you can and leave when you need to. Coffee will always be waiting! Bible and Beverages meets every-other Thursday evening at 7 PM at River Ridge Tap House in Clemmons. Men gather in the bar or outside on the deck to enjoy great drinks and even better conversation. Pastor Lindsay provides a menu of topics dealing with the Bible itself, the spiritual life, Christian ethics, family and marriage, culture and politics, and leadership. No prep work is needed, but bring a Bible if you can (book or mobile app).
New Hope’s men regularly take part in projects organized by our elders and deacons. Past projects have included free health fairs and dental clinics for the uninsured, home and auto repair, and speakers addressing topics of faith and life.
