Ben Tietje, Pastor

Ben first came to New Hope in 2017 when he was called as to serve as Director for Youth and Family Ministries while finishing his seminary degree. Ordained as Assistant Pastor, he has since been called as Associate Pastor and more recently Senior Pastor. Ben is active in Piedmont Triad Presbytery, having chaired the Church Planting & Missions Committee and serving on the Temporary Session for the Presbytery’s newest Church Plant, Immanuel High Point.

Ben grew up in many places, but considers both Western North Carolina (where he grew up during his High School years) as well as the Triad region of North Carolina “home.” He attended UNC-Greensboro (BS, ‘11) and completed his theological training at Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte (M.Div, ‘18). He recently had the privilege of taking part of an Anago Partners Fellowship (‘23) where he received pastoral and leadership assessments, training, and coaching. Ben is married to Leigha. They are the parents of three daughters.

Ministry Staff

Matthew Hutchens, Pastoral Assistant

Matthew began serving with New Hope in the Fall of 2023. Matthew helps with general pastoral duties such as preaching, helping lead Sunday worship liturgy, as well as visitation, counsel, and prayer. Matthew also leads us in fostering Youth discipleship in our church and lends a hand in children’s Christian education efforts.

Matthew graduated with a B.S. in Christian Ministry from Piedmont International University (‘18) and received his theological training at Beeson Divinity School (M.Div, ‘23). Matthew is licensed to preach in the Presbyterian Church of America and is currently working through the ordination process with the Piedmont Triad Presbytery.

In addition to his work at New Hope, Matthew is a Middle School Bible Teacher at Redeemer School, a local Christian School in Winston-Salem, NC. Matthew is married to Allie, and they are proud parents of a young son.

Jennifer Jordan, Office Administrator

Jennifer Jordan has served as New Hope’s treasurer since August 2014. She tracks all of the church’s expenses, maintains its accounts, pays its bills, and administers its payroll. More recently, Jennifer began working as our Office Administrator, helping with scheduling, communication, and many other behind the scenes tasks that make a church function.

In addition to her work at New Hope, Jennifer serves as an executive assistant at the Budd Group. Jennifer’s family moved often, but she considered the Midwest her home until she and her husband Cliff moved from Chicago to Clemmons. She attended Taylor University (BA, 1987) and worked as a market analyst until she began raising and homeschooling her children - Claire, Andrew, and Emma. Jennifer is an avid and talented singer who serves on New Hope’s worship team and also sings professionally with the Carolers of Christmas Past.
